On Saturday 2nd November The Lensbury, Teddington, played host to a spectacular Ladies Festival jointly arranged by Claygate and Dormer Lodges. An evening of excellent food and even more excellent wine suitably celebrated the invaluable support offered by members’ families across the last year, whilst simultaneously raising a substantial sum for Help the Heroes and The Children’s Society.
A delicious meal of tomato soup, corn fed chicken and pavlova was set to the background of a rat-pack style tribute which was universally enjoyed. Following the obligatory raffle, (those who missed out on prizes can be reassured that many are likely to resurface soon!!), members and their guests descended upon the dance floor to demonstrate the sort of moves that would not have been out of place on an episode of Strictly (well on the bloopers reel at least...). In one last triumphant act, those left standing after the dancing did their best to stimulate the local economy of Teddington through strong support of the hotel bar.
Thanks go to WBro Larry Hands for his efforts to arrange the wonderful evening, plus a special mention to Bro Ioan Tanase and his sister for providing the tremendous table decorations.
