The evening of Tuesday 9th May saw six members of Claygate Lodge assemble at Noble Green's wine emporium in Hampton Hill for an evening of wine tasting hosted by the wine maker John Bojanowski. John, an American from Kentucky, purchased vineyards in Minervois with his french wife Nicole a few years ago and have built a very successful 'winery' over past years.
We were treated to six very different wines including a delicate, slightly oaked but excellent white called La Clos de Gravillas L'inattendu and a 'Sous le Cilloux des Grillons' which was a lovely summer quaffing red.
Following the tasting we ajourned to the La Familia Spanish restaurant in Hampton Hill for supper, a further glass of wine and some enjoyable company and conversation.
