Saturday 22nd October saw nearly 100 members and guests of Claygate and Dormer Lodges' assemble at The Lensbury, Teddington, for another combined Ladies Festival.
This was a new venue from that of the past few years which certainly lived up to it reputation with good food, service and great ambience.
The evening commenced with the now obligatory ‘Heads & Tails’ which raised a useful contribution towards the evenings charitable collection. Dinner was then served, during which, several lovely ladies sold raffle tickets.
After dinner, Andrzej Swiderski, the current Master of Dormer Lodge, proposed the toast to the Ladies and Sally Hands responded most eloquently.
Larry Hands, current Master of Claygate Lodge, announced that two charities that would benefit from the evenings fund raising. These were:-
The Dan Maskell Tennis Trust which provides funds for the purchase of wheelchairs, tennis equipment and coaching for disabled adults and children.
Scouts Tanzania 2017 Expedition which will enable 80 scouts from southern counties to assist local communities in Tanzania by building an extension wing to a hospital, together with a school, community centre and workshops.
Over £1750 was raised for these charitable causes, so huge thanks to all those present.
Music and disco, provided by David Jelley, ensured that the dance floor was full for the rest of the evening.
