CLAYGATE PERFORMS FOR DOLPHIN

The first day in June saw a delegation from Claygate Lodge assembled in the Hare and Hounds PH in order to present a donation of £750 to Dolphin Music Therapy (DMT). The cheque was received by Vicky Lord-Taylor, the prime mover behind DMT, together with Councillor Mary Marshall, an active supporter of the work DMT does in the local community. A reporter from the Surrey Advertiser also attended to record the presentation.

Dolphin Music Therapy provides fully funded or subsidised individual or group music therapy sessions to children and adolescents living in the Claygate Community. Children who have emotional and social difficulties find that playing through music can help them express their feelings and cope with their difficulties.

Children who have benefited from the service over the last 12 years have emotional difficulties through bereavement, eating and anxiety problems or they have suffered an Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) through cancer, stroke or injury and those who have neurological disorders such as Downs Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Autistic Spectrum Disorder and ADHD.

The therapy is for those children, their siblings and their families.

For further information regarding DMT please contact Vicky Lord-Taylor 07771 857716 or home@viclord.com
