A sunny monday morning in May saw three members of Claygate Lodge attending the wonderful SHOOTING STARS CHILDREN’S HOSPICE located in Hampton, Middlesex. We were warmly welcomed by Sandi Hillery, Head of Care for Shooting Star House and Katie Jones their Community Fund Raising Manager, to whom we presented a cheque for £2250.00p, a donation from the members of Claygate Lodge.
This was the first children’s hospice in the world when it was opened in the 1980’s and is now one of over fifty located around the UK.
It costs £10million a year to run, ten percent of which comes from the UK Government with the balance being raised through fundraising and donations.
Their aim is make every moment count for babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions and to support their families.
A hugely worthwhile organisation to support in a world that places increasing demand on its work and resources.
