HEROES GET HELP FROM CLAYGATE LODGE

June 3, 2016

June is turning into a month for giving for the members of Claygate Lodge who assembled at Glenmore House, Surbiton on 2nd June in order to make a further charitable donation to another very worthwhile cause.

This time it was the turn of Help for Heroes (HFH) to be recipients of a donation of £2250 raised by the members of the Lodge.

The cheque presented to local HFH representative, James Burns is the final in a programme of charitable donations made during the last twelve months which has totalled nearly £19000.00p.

For Help for Heroes, recovery for our wounded, injured and sick Service Personnel and Veterans is so much more than rebuilding damaged bodies or minds; it’s about rebuilding whole lives.

Support focuses on a comprehensive, personally tailored programme. This is provided through grants to individuals, other specialist charities and organisations, Psychological Wellbeing, Welfare Support, Career Recovery Services, Sports Recovery and through its Fellowships – the Band of Brothers and Band of Sisters. These are delivered at the Charity’s four Recovery Centres or remotely across the UK.

To address a growing need, Help for Heroes has launched its Hidden Wounds psychological wellbeing service. Available to Veterans and Armed Forces families, it aims to give them the tools to manage and overcome mental health challenges such as anger, anxiety and depression. Help for Heroes, also works with other mental health charities and services to support those in need of more specialist support, such as for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.

Claygate Lodge is proud to support the work that HFH.
